It is one of the most famous garden restaurant in Guangzhou City, established in 1960 and opened for business in 1963, covering a total land are of 90,000 square meters with the landscape greening area of 45,000 square meters and the lotus pond area of 2000 square meters, so it is a restaurant highly endowed with the garden characteristics. The architectural structure is characterized by the black bricks and green tiles, tilted corners and streamlining brims to decorate the pavilions, terraces and open halls with the traditional Chinese architectural style and the elegant and pleasant decorations coupled with the modern flavor. The bamboos in the garden are dancing in the breeze, surrounded by the lush greenness of flourishing vegetation with singing birds and fragrant flowers all around.
Our country’s greatest writer, archeologist and poet, Guo Moruo came to Nanyuan Garden Restaurant on July 24, 1964 and couldn’t help improvising on two poems for Nanyuan Garden, one of which goes like this, “This is something so magic beyond imagination, you can just relax yourself by sitting comfortably in the stately restaurant; the restaurant enjoys the most pleasant environment, where you can relish the delicious banquet with the eloquence. You can drink tea or alcohols to your heart’s content, and enjoy the delicious dishes at whatsoever moment. The excellent service and delicious food take the external travelers by surprise, so they strongly believe that China is the paradise”.
